Twins
When someone is having twins or more, each baby is treated separately and each could have a very different birth. A lot of twin or multiple births can be long, and often it is recommended that you have an epidural because some babies may need to be manually turned. Most doctors will advise anyone having 3 or more babies to have a c-section.
Breech
Breech birth is when the baby is the wrong way up with their bottom facing down. If it is thought that a vaginal birth is a safe option this will be encouraged, although a lot of breech births are c-sections. Sometimes the legs are the first thing to be born, but usually the bottom comes first. A breech birth shouldn't increase the need of an episiotomy if it is well managed. A lot of the time you will be given an epidural during a breech birth, in case a c-sect is needed quickly.
Your rights
It is always your right to have the type of birth that you want, including a home birth.
